Schoolies Essentials Item #1

nail wraps.

Depending on whether you know me or not, you may know that I'm quite the nail enthusiast. Although at the moment I'm giving them a bit ofa detox and haven't really done anything with them for a few months, here's a few I've played around with -

why did I ever think growing my nails that long was a good decision ):

When I thought about schoolies I realised that I'd want my nails done, but realised I almost
certainly wouldn't have time or energy and I certainly don't want to have to lug around a box of nail polish (I took a 2kg box of it when I went to Bangladesh last year. Everybody was impressed but it was a total waste of luggage weight).

I also realised that if I did them before I went, the salts from the beach would probably mean that everything would chip off way faster than usual. Also, I tend to
scratch at my nails when I'm nervous, which I'm fairly sure I will be given my friends (Ben, Tom...) and the liability that I'll have for the rental property. So if I want nail polish, which I do, I'd have to reapply every day or two. Then I realis
ed NAIL WRAPS!

These little babies seemed to be the PERFECT SOLUTION! Not only do they take only a few minutes to apply but they're light and transportable. They're also not boring! Just one thing, one pack is around $14. Not sure if I want nails that cost more than the food I'll be
eating. Searched around, they have 60 packs on eBay for abour $40 which isn;t bad but WOW they're ugly! ASOS has some adorable designs, like the one to the left. Cute! And so beach appropriate methinks. These are $10 a pack which isn't a lot better (but I might still get them because LOOK AT THEM!) Finally I found that Amazon had two packs of Sally Hansen (pictured above to the right) for about $12. That price felt right. I'll buy a total of four, just in case.

I'm sorry this isn't a very entertaining post, It's actually more of an NTS. I'd also like to let you know that I am completely lost in terms of study. Every time I don't know what to do, I do maths. So I'll probably get a fairly good score in maths and just flunk every other subject. Here's a video to keep you entertained and disturbed for a few minutes. This man is my hero.

NTS:

The kapcha i just got while changing my URL was difdus corafal.

This would make an excellent band name.

what's not happening?

study.

This week, my mum and I devised a reward/bribe to get me to study. For every three hours I study, she pays me five dollars directly into a "shopping spree fund". Now you might ask, why can't she just give it to you as generic money (but you probably won't, but I'm going to tell you anyway)?

It's because I love shopping, but I also have a heavy conscious driving me to put almost all my money straight into my bank account. So all the money I earn from work and from general chores goes straight there and gets saved up for when I need it for things like travel and gifts (I spent way too much last Christmas). So if she wereto just give me five dollars, I'd put it in my piggybank and it possibly would end up going to buying her a perfume or gold class movie tickets on her birthday. So to REALLY motivate me to study - I have to be able to study knowing that every hour I study goes specifically to a new wardrobe.

Okay, okay. My point is that I followed this for a good four days but I've tapered off. I got lazy and distracted. I mean honestly, even my making this blog is a pure form of procrastination. The main things I've been doing in lieu of study?

  • Planningschoolies. I swear organisation is lik a disease, it infected me on thursday and Mark and I have been spending hours corresponding with attendees and house owners, scouring holiday websites, calculating costs. I even made a folder. I even made a custom cover that has nothing to do with its content out of spare materialz. Want to see my folder?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, I'm attractive.
  • Watching Sherlock and The Simpsons. Sherlock because it's amazing and The Simpsons because I don't have to think to watch it (yin and yang?). Speaking of which I really want to watch some new Sherlock. LOL NVM EIGHTEEN MONTH WAIT. Also, people tell me "There's only three episodes because they're long." Here's a calculation:
Sherlock time - 90mins
House MD Episode time - 40mins
Number of House episodes that can fit into a Sherlock episode - 2.25
Number of House episodes per seasons - Ususally 22
Number of Sherlock Episodes there would be id it was directly proportional - 5.17..
Okay, that's the first time I actually did that and it's not as dramatic as I wished it would be. People also tell me it's because they need to come up with ideas. Bollocks, they already have books written, they barely even have to characterise, only appropriate. By the way, don't take this as ingratitude towards the directors, because they're all wonderful, sexy people. I'm jsut suffering a touch of withdrawal. A tad.

  • Playing with babies! In this week alone I've come int contact with three of my (now) favourite <3's (under three's, i didn't see what it would like like until I wrote it)! I think my baby playing-with time is at seven hours this week. woah.
aaaaaanywhoooo.. I better hit the books. What shall I study to? You know what you should NEVER study to? This:
